On March 13th, Ren Yong, President of Hefei University (HFU), met with Hendrik Lackner, Norbert Bahlmann, and Matthias Reckzügel, delegation of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.
With a warm welcome, Ren Yong stated to the guests, the year of 2025 will witness the 40th anniversary of cooperation between HFU and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences when HFU is currently advancing its construction of a high-level applied university; over the past 40 years, both universities have engaged in fruitful cooperation, which set models for Sino-German educational cooperation with two Sino-German cooperative undergraduate programs jointly established, 17 Sino-German symposia on applied higher education co-hosted, and an international academic annual journal on applied higher education research published. So Ren expressed his hope for a further collaboration with Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences in such areas as new jointly-built undergraduate programs, joint postgraduate training, new energy vehicle research and international exchange.
Hendrik Lackner presented Ren Yong with a congratulatory letter from Professor Alexander Schmemann, President of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. In his letter, Alexander Schmemann expressed his anticipation of advancing the long-standing and fruitful cooperation between the two universities to a higher level.
Norbert Bahlmann, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, introduced his faculty and their talent cultivation models for undergraduate and master programs. He hoped that their visit would better promote the joint establishment of new programs between the two universities. Matthias Reckzügel provided an overview of the programs in his charge, including vehicle engineering and industrial design.
Afterwards, the delegation first visited the laboratories at HFU’s Volkswagen College and School of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, and then went to Volkswagen Anhui and Continental Tires for on-site inspections of the school-enterprise cooperation.
