During the team final of the fourth leg of the 2024/2025 FIE Women’s Epee World Cup held in Marrakech, Morocco on the evening of March 30th local time, Chinese Women’s Epee Team composed of Shi Yuexin, Tang Junyao, Yang Jingwen, and Yu Sihan defeated Estonia to claim the championship. This victory secured the second gold medal for the Chinese fencing team this season.
At the 2025 FIE Women’s Epee World Cup in Marrakech, Chinese team claimed the gold medal in the women’s team event after a dominant performance across five rounds. With 30 teams competing, China swept through the early stages. In the first 3 rounds, China defeated Venezuela 45-26, Romania 45-30 and Poland 45-33 respectively; in the semifinals, China overcame the South Korean team 45-36; in the final showdown, China secured victory against Estonia 42-37. Estonia took silver, while France and South Korea finished third and fourth, respectively.
Tang Junyao, a current undergraduate majoring in International Economics and Trade (Class of 2022) at the School of Economics and Management of Hefei University, secured the fourth place in the women’s team epee event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
